It is my pleasure to give Janet Pederson a 5 start rating. Janet was extremely helpful in guiding our Board of Directors and myself as property manager through different color choices for our community buildings and how the colors could be applied for depth and contrast. She want above and beyond in suggesting a change to our unit numbers and their location as well - which we did and are so happy with the choice. Janet was then contacted for her opinion on our mansard remodeling and again, made the correct recommendation. All our work is done and both owners and rental guests love the finished product. We are very proud of the results.
I had furnished my house in a rush with second hand furniture and somehow 5 years had gone by without any change. I wanted to do something new, but didn’t know how to get started and didn’t have the time to spend on it. I called Janet and we worked out a theme (Boutique Florida Hotel), and budget and then systematically she began transforming my house. We did everything from new paint, fans, doors, wood floors, re-grouting tile areas, new baseboards first, then got into the fun stuff, rugs, furniture, lighting, wall art and accessories. Janet worked with me to stay within the budget and worked with my tastes. She presented just enough options but not too many to get confusing. She handled everything from sourcing, ordering, taking delivery and assembly, which I could have never done with my busy schedule. It came out great, and it is something I never would have been able to put together on my own. I love my house now! Thanks Janet!
“Janet did it again! After working together on many an interior project, our latest venture has been the exterior of our home. From the barrel-tile roof to the paint colors and down to the slate for the entryway, we are the envy of every neighbor.”
“For over 50 years Southern Quilters has been a full service workroom for designers, builders, and specialty furniture stores. I have owned it for 22 and of those have worked with Janet Pederson for at least 18. That said, the best part of working with Janet is that she sees the bigger picture – she sees the picture on the cover of the box of the puzzle - where those of us in the field only see our piece. Janet is fantastic at bringing together the resources necessary to complete a project and by doing so, make her client’s happy. If she can’t locate a resource in town, she reaches out further and further. Janet is capable of researching, locating, developing and if necessary creating the resources she needs. It is an enormous task to listen to what a client wants; translate that into reality using a cluster of resources. This is Janet’s forte. Once she has designed the puzzle, she finds and makes the pieces fit.”
“I sought her to help when building a new house and faced with many paint, flooring and fixture choices. At our first meeting, I was impressed with her talent for color and her creative design solutions. The best part of the experience was meeting Janet. Little did I know this was the beginning of a 10 year relationship. Our latest project was quite different than the first. I quickly needed window treatments when moving into an older home. One project led to another, and the results were outstanding. She converted my house to a home. I have no reservations whatsoever in recommending Janet for both small and large design projects.”
Andrea's living room was designed to be mainly black & white, including the large family photos, to allow her to showcase her colorful & vintage mid-century furniture.
“Janet Pederson was referred to us to makeover a small bathroom in our home, The complete project turned out amazing, and it’s now the best room in our house. We get many comments from guests. We have more projects lined up for her advice.”
“Working with Janet Pederson for over 10 years as her Window Treatment Installer, I can recommend her professionalism, and ability to interpret what the client is trying to achieve. There are many different projects we have completed over the years, among them: privacy blinds, motorized, decorative rods, valances and cornice boards to name a few. I look forward to helping her execute the next project(s) she creates.”
“I have worked with Janet off and on for 12 years and it has always been a very good experience. She has a positive, can-do attitude and problem-solves extremely well. I have made some unusual requests of her and Janet has always come up with excellent ideas! For example, out first project was my all-white study which had white walls above and below the chair rail and white built-in desk, cabinets and shelves. I wanted to break up all the white but did not want a lot of color on the walls. Because I love birds, she proposed painting birds on the 2 cabinet doors and tan checks on the wall below the chair rail. She did both by hand and it turned out beautifully. I still love the room and what she did 12 years later. Another somewhat unusual project, she resolved for me was doing something about small mauve “decorative” tiles around the huge bathtub in the master bathroom. I wanted to get rid of the mauve without having to get into demolition. She suggested painting them which she did. She did it by dabbing 3 different colors of tans and browns that would go with the quartz countertops. It is a mottled look that is interesting and looks terrific. I have received many compliments. This is not to say that Janet only deals in the unusual as she has handled routine decorating jobs for me and I have always been pleased.”
